In Loving Memory of Helen Allen

We are heartbroken to share the passing of our dear friend and one of the matriarch’s of Ojai’s Pride Walk, Helen Allen.


In her younger years, Helen’s magnetic energy brought Lynne to Ojai and together they paved the way for queer community throughout the valley.


Thirty-five years ago they began the Ojai Pride walk together with just a handful of close friends; which eventually grew into the hundreds it is today.


In 2024, Lynne and Helen passed the torch to Queers in the Valley to steward their beloved Pride Walk celebration; and in the years since, it has been our honor and our joy to carry on the tradition they began thirty-five years ago.



Rest easy Helen, we will miss you dearly. ♥️
