Let's Dance!

Come join us for a Queer country dance retreat in the heart of downtown Ojai! This event is geared towards beginners, returning dancers, or folks just curious about learning some sweet country dance moves among some incredible community.

🍂 SCHEDULE

10:00a - 11:00a: Morning check-in and coffee with Pinholita Coffee Van (Ojai, CA) and hand pies by Bake Ojai

11:00a - 1:45p:  Daytime dance intensives (two rooms, two vibes - see details below)

1:45p - 2:45p:  Lunch (BYO)

2:45p - 4:00p:  Daytime dance intensives (cont’d)

6:00p - 10:00p:  4hrs of social dancing led by DJ Rick Dominguez - Put all that you learned into practice during our social dance evening extravaganza! Can’t come during the day? Come twirl the night away with line dancing AND partner dance breaks. $20-30 sliding scale at the door (included w/ all day ticket holders). Alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages for sale by Show Pony Bar (Ojai, CA). DIAMONDS & DENIM ROOM:

11:00-12:15 - Intro to Line Dance for Beginners (with Bootleg instructors, Abi Hamilton/Bootleg and Lindsey Castillo/Plaid with Pride) - Curious about line dancing but feeling a bit intimidated? This intro intensive is for you! Abi and Lindsey will break down common line dance steps and patterns so that you can feel confident jumping in at any social dance event. 

12:30-1:45 - Beginner line dance lesson with Rick Dominguez

2:45-4:00 - Two improver/intermediate line dance lessons (Honky Tonk Twister and Rhinestone Rock with Rick Dominguez)

RHINESTONE ROOM:

11:00-12:15 - Two intermediate line dance lessons (Big Energy & Out Out with Diane Anastasio/Spinning Spurs) 

12:30-1:45 - Two improver/intermediate line dance lessons (RLDS and Skinny Dippin’ with Luke Nelson/Bootleg)

2:45-4:00 - Advanced phrased line dance lesson (Leave Britney Alone with Luke Nelson and Lindsey Castillo)
